I teach band at Rollings Middle School of the Arts in Summerville, SC (Flowertown USA), and my husband is a U.S. Naval Officer (Nuclear Engineering). We have a border collie named Ginger who loves to chase squirrels. My favorite flower is the bearded iris. Camellias, azaleas, crepe myrtles, and hydrangeas are a common sight in the Charleston area. The best time to visit is during the first or second week of April while the azaleas are in full bloom.
