I manage a large bulb/geophyte garden and a large herb garden at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens (kanapaha.org) in Gainesville FL. The bulb garden now has over 250 species and varieties of geophytes. My aim is to demonstrate what can be successfully grown here in 8b/9a without any special treatment (digging, drying, refrigerating, etc.) but instead by careful selection of plants and attention to cultural requirements. I am growing many new bulbs from seed from South Africa and elsewhere.
