Yum!

One harvest from eight or ten vines. They had been producing for a month or so, but we hadn't gotten around to picking them before this.

This is extremely close to the exact colors of the blooms and leaves. Blooms are few, but pretty, about an inch across longways. I live on a dirt road, so there is much dust on the leaves in this pic, but to the left and behind the bloom you can see new growth that is more normal for this plant ~ beautiful glossy deep green.

These sprawl on the ground if not trellised, forming a thick mat of leaves and vines. Might make a good annual groundcover!

Why they HAVE to be trellised! LOL! I neglected the garden this year and these THREE plants took over these two beds, another bed right behind and half of three next to them. They need a LOT of room. The ones in this pic weren't watered regularly at all, maybe every other week in July/August and this is Texas!

Mature pod and peas. The peas dry to a deep maroon color and are slightly smaller than the ones in the pic.

Yep, they're thick enough to hide a dog in!
