They're reminiscent in some ways of sunflowers, occasionally leeeeeeaning over to catch the sun, but they follow it throughout the course of they day (so they're not perpetually leaning), and stand straight up during overcast weather. They also open widely on bright days, open slightly on overcast days, and close partially or fully on rainy days. I enjoy watching all the changes. NOTE: some catalogs show this flower with a blue-ish outside, but be aware that that lasts only 1-2 days tops as the flower is opening, and then it's just maroon and cream. Pretty, but if you're hoping for a long season of flowers with red-cream-blue rainbow hues then you'll be disappointed.
