These are very neat little birds. They look like tiny blue-grey colored wrens with a brown cap on their head. This brown cap is how we identified them, as the similar gnatcatcher has a black cap instead of a brown one. This is the first year we have ever seen these coming to our yard and bird feeder.

I'm delighted to spot and identify this bird as now being in our yard. It has been frequenting the birdfeeders we have in the yard and I have not seen it before this fall.
