I found my dog barking at this one evening in July at the base of a tree. It was the largest beetle I've ever seen!

This Hercules Beetle was found in Cole Camp Missouri and is unusual here.

This adult male Hercules beetle was found in south Tyler, Texas in the summer of 2012. I moved it from the hot parking lot it was stuck in to a more shaded wooded area a couple of blocks away.

The female Hercules Beetle is huge and an olive green in color. The largest North American Beetle.

Scissors were included to give an idea of how large this beetle is. When I found the beetle it was upside down trying to turn itself over.
