Those reporting this snail from the United States are mistaken; this species is confined to southern Victoria and north-west Tasmania (Australia), and furthermore it is carnivorous so won't damage anyone's plants. Indeed I am currently looking after one of these, and I feed it common garden snails.

This little critter thinks my flowerbed is it's own delicatesa. I have tried commercial products, but the only thing that actually worked for me is- regular table salt.
